Canvas is UBC’s new online learning platform

Canvas has replaced Connect as the core of UBC’s learning technology environment. Canvas is a powerful, user-friendly tool for supporting teaching and learning that allows instructors to be even more creative and efficient in how they teach. Numerous learning technology tools that were previously available with Connect have now been integrated with Canvas — with more to come. Please see our working tool integration timeline for more information about Canvas features and tools that have been integrated with Canvas.

Transitioning from Connect to Canvas

January 31, 2019, is the final day that instructors and staff can access Connect. If you haven’t yet moved your Connect courses to Canvas and don’t have a plan in place for doing so, please contact your faculty’s Instructional Support Unit (UBC Vancouver) or the Centre for Teaching and Learning (UBC Okanagan) for assistance. Connect was officially decommissioned on August 31, 2018.
